David Duckfield (aged 17), a cordwainer, murdered Anne Morgan on 16 September 1800 between 6 and 7 in the evening in a field at Park-yr-odyn part of the tenement of Dyffryn in the parish of Lampeter Velfrey.  She died as a result of being hit on the forehead with a stone (WALES 4/828/1).  He was said to be 17 and she 11 years old.  He was hanged at Haverfordwest on the Bowling Green and his body hanged near Tavernspite. The cost of his execution (and subsequent hanging in chains ?) is stated in the Pembroke Order Book at £20.7.4.
